Following up on a report

Post by sorryimlikethis »

Hello. Can someone please direct me on the best course of action to take? I want to follow up on a report made over a month ago, but can't find where or how to do that.

Timeline -
25/4/2024: reported multiple accounts for playing against each other in arena.
Nothing happened
15/5/2024: found proof the multiple accounts have matching IP addresses and are still playing each other in arena, reported again with more detail.
Nothing happened (yet?)

It's been a month since the 2nd report. I feel like reporting for a 3rd time will either do nothing, or get me in trouble, or both.
I can't find any option in the "Contact Us" that fits the description. It's not really contesting a moderation and there's nothing in "Games & Players".
I understand the process takes time, but given other reports I've made have been resolved within days or even hours, I feel like this one has been dismissed. But I would like to follow up to clarify, because I am certain this person is cheating.

Administrator xate said in this post that you are meant to get an e-mail when a report is concluded, but it may not be working. https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 69#p174469
Also that you can reach out to the admins via an e-mail found via "Contact us". So that's what I would recommend if you seem to be getting no e-mail responses to your reports.

And thank you, by the way, for taking the time to diligently investigate and report cheaters.

If you read the thread that erik posted the user did the same thing as you and was scolded for filing multiple reports on the same issue. This contributed to them losing their right to report anymore. So don't file anymore reports on this issue. Bga doesn't take the issue of playing from multiple accounts as serious as they should unfortunately.
Let us know if justice was ever served.

Yeah, so following up. Thank you for the reply Erik.

I contacted support through "other business enquiries" and asked if the investigation was still ongoing or not.
They replied within the day and confirmed it was still ongoing. The reason it was taking a long time was because it required a special moderator to investigate it because of the stupid number of accounts the person had.

A couple of days after that I checked the rankings and most of the accounts were gone! There's still a few left, but justice has mostly been served.
