Arena - searching and timing out

Post by wortsenawl »

Hey all,

Just a quick question (before registering a possible bug).

Has anyone else experienced logging on to BGA and finding they have been expelled from Arena matches? I have had this happen now three times. I start a search, cannot find a game (or the game is not starting, just waiting on all players to join) and I cancel the search/game start and exit out of BGA. I then log on to find I have been expelled from a match as I timed out.

edit: 1 of the mathces was not Azul - it was a game I had not played in almost a year. I logged on to find I have a penalty for timing out. I did log this and was told it was fault for not joining the game in a timely fashion. I did ask the moderator to look at the game in question and then also my plays... apparently I got the Karma back, but that wasn't really the point I was making.
Is this just me?

thanks
Chris

1.) Turn-based Tournaments have a set, finite amount of time to play, they don't refresh at the start of each turn like non-tournaments do.
2.) Backing out of a Tournament setting takes more than just quitting from the menu. You did not leave the tournament you thought you cancelled.

I've had this happen to me once - I signed up for a Terraforming Mars tournament, played one round, then went to bed while I was waiting for other players to do their turns. By the time I woke up, I'd already been dumped from the tournament, because tournament players will ABSOLUTELY kick players and end games early if it advances them in the tournament. Which is their right!

Since then, I simply don't sign up for turn-based tournaments unless I can commit my entire day to watching it, so that I can play ASAP when my turn comes around.

Thanks, but I said Arena. I don't take part in Azul tournaments.
