Same IP

Hello, first time posting.

I have a question regarding multiple accounts in the same house. I would’ve emailed BGA directly but none of the options in the contact area fit my specific question. I have a premium account and my gf has a regular. We both signed up so we could play together here. Much cheaper to play games here that we’re interested in first before buying. In our current game in the table info there was a “multiple users with same IP” message. I clicked on it and it linked me to rules on multiple accounts etc. My question is, is it ok for us both to have accounts? The rules area made it seem like any possible examples of multiple accounts would result in accounts being locked and game info wiped. It’s not multiple accounts though, just same IP.

If you're just playing together (there are no other players involved) then the only possible abuse is Elo boosting. I'd suggest if you have very uneven skills in a particular game and intend to play it a lot (like many dozen times) to switch to training (friendly) mode.

My partner and I have accounts so it also reports us as playing on the same IP, and we also know a few other couples who both play (and play together regularly). We tend to trade wins back and forth, so there is no ELO boosting (or anything that looks like it), but we've never had an issue in 18 months of playing on here. We also play in varied groups, frequently with our other RL friends, but not always just the two of us. I also play a lot outside our RL friend group (ie. with strangers, in Arena, etc.).
