Amphibious Invasion

Post by Silverhand72 »

Only one unit/invasion per surprise attack marker? Am I understanding that correctly?

You are understanding that correctly.

That confused me for a while as it used to be two in the 1st edition of the game. I supposed it was reduced to one per marker to balance the game. The W.Allies can still reproduce Overlord by using both the British and US surprise attacks.

Can they both use surprise attack markers in the same sea zone ?

I've made several attempts and end up with two landings from two different sea zones; Normandy and Brittany, too far apart.

You can put two Surprise Attack markers in one sea zone. You can't put them in the same hex though, so just place the second one in some other hex in the sea zone.

Aha !

I've been landing in Normandy and also in Brittany as I hadn't worked out how to do that . . .

Also reading the rules (or am I mis-reading) it looks like one convoy can supply two armies, while the online game appears to operate on one convoy to one army ?

Edit: can place a second surprise attack marker, but can't seem to turn that into a second amphibious invasion movement.

A convoy can supply multiple units but uses a sortie for each supply.

You can supply multiple units with one convoy unit if you have enough sorties. For the supply phase, if the enemy can intercept the supply run, you won't get a quick supply button, and instead, you'll need to click on the unit and manually select the convoy, the escort, and the supply path.

Is the second invading unit within amphib invasion range of that sea zone? I can't think of another reason why you wouldn't be able to.

Some of this is very clunky; perhaps easier done with the physical board game.

I can think of some potentially easier mechanisms for producing the same effect.

What is clunky for you? We can likely help.
