Very very short game, multiple rounds?

Post by sparr »

I'm implementing Red7. It's a card game. One round takes 30-90 seconds, usually. I plan to implement the Advanced version, which involves playing 5-15 rounds with a couple of end-game conditions. However, there is a more commonly played Basic version which eliminates a few of the more complicated rules. Unfortunately, the rules as written only cover playing the basic game once. You deal, a hand, play it, and you're done, with one winner and N-1 losers, all in that same 30-90 seconds. That seems too short for the typical game format on BGA. Should I arbitrarily add a "play X rounds, scrore 1 point per won round" meta-game to make a more reasonable length game for BGA?
