Bracket Potential Players by ELO range

Post by Carmelatte »

I love playing Chinese Checkers but I’m not very skilled in it. My ELO is around 100. I keep getting auto-matched with people who are in the 400-600 range and their play is brutal, blocking my every move. I actually considered buying premium BGA but won’t because I find it very frustrating to be placed in games that are so lopsided. I just want a nice, friendly game of Chinese Checkers.

Does BGA have a way to match opponents up more closely by ELO range and I’m just not aware of it? If yes, could someone please share how I can request a table like that? If not, I highly suggest a setting that allows players to filter to opponents better matched to their own ELO range.

On the "Play Now" page, the games have a gear icon. Click it and you have a "Player's level" set-up where you can limit your opposition based on their proximity to you. I believe it's by category (strong, expert, etc.) rather than ratings, though said categories are ratings based.

What Ceaseless suggested works if you're using Automatic matching. If you select Manual instead, when you create a table there will be a link labeled "Restrict table access" that will let you limit the ranking of players who can join the table.
