3 Player Arena

Post by PostmanKirk »

Three player Arena = Waiting 10 minutes for a game or waiting forever in a BGA vortex until I cancel and try to start again. And then when a game finally starts half the time one of the players is awol or afk or in the BGA vortex.

Great move. 3 months of waiting and clicking.

That's why I'm moving to "turn based" and I feel like I'm not alone. And this further contributes to longer wait time for "real time" players.

Yeah. Finding players for real time games is quite tricky right now...

I don't get it. Since I'm playing arena the format switched between the seasons.. 2 players...people were complaining... 3 players... People were complaining.. Switch back.. And so forth...

Some argument that 2 player format is too luck based, but I don't know why... I would really like to hear someone explain...

don't both players get the same exact pieces? How is luck involved in regards to competition?

I am against the new season of Arena. I prefer the 3-player Arena because, in this season, when I scored over 70 points, I have sometimes finished second (which is also last). In the previous season, at least with that score, I could finish second.

Scoring over 70 points and still finishing last doesn’t feel fair to me. That’s why I disagree with the new 2-player format, even though the waiting time for finding opponents has decreased. I still prefer the previous season with 3 players. Besides, in my opinion, a 3-player game is more exciting than a 2-player game.

I prefer the two-player arena format. I prefer bigger-room games for every other format.

In two-player arena format the waiting time for a game to start is significantly less. Players not playing or disconnecting happens too, but i feel it's less frequently. Games are also a little faster (of course it depends on the players play style and speed).

I get the point, that you don't feel ok with becoming last when you have a relatively high score. It happened to many players in many games. But in the end you want to win every game (I think) and thus have to beat the opponents score. So when you are not beating their score, you lose.
The same argument could be made in favor of the two-player format: Not scoring first and becoming last feels fair to me.
