Having tried again today on both PC and on mobile, it still doesn't work on mobile for me, even though I am getting better at learning the new cards, but is sort of ok on PC. Unfortunately, I seldom play on the PC.

It appears these are the new, official graphics for Splendor being used by the game publisher, Space Cowboys. Wow, that’s too bad.

Many are complaining about how the new design affects playability, especially online. That’s certainly true. However, let’s not ignore the fact the new illustrations are just plain ugly and inferior to the original. There’s no “Splendor” in the new illustrations.

Space Cowboys - shame on you for trying to “fix” something that wasn’t broken. Did you have a falling out with the original artist? You ruined a classic. If the physical game is now being printed with these graphics, I’ll likely stop recommending Splendor to others.

I agree with the general sentiment (don't like the new UI, want option to use the old UI). But I don't know that further complaints in this "forum" are going to help, as I don't know that the developer would even see them.

I thought I'd try a different route and create a "bug".

I completely agree. The art is so poor and ugly looking I thought it was a counterfeit version. The splendor guy at the cover of the game looks like a pervert now, it's freaky.

Even watching a replay is very difficult. What happened to the original designers?!

This same problem happened for Castles of Burgundy. The developer made an option to select which graphics you want when playing (as a personal preference, not a game preference) - so you individually can select which view you want. I think we should implement the same for this game.
