Sawyer Einherjar wrote:Hey tondakolik. You will be able to retranslate validated strings the moment you translated 100 + strings that have been validated. Seeing your work lately and the fact that you already have 71 validated strings on your name i hope you could wait a bit longer till you have reached that edge :). I searched for pure english validated strings in the section but only found a few. So i opened up those. If there are some strings that destroy game play because their meaning is something completely different from what they should mean then post them here and i'll open them for you. The others with minor mistakes you can almost translate yourself. (just have to wait a bit longer till you get those last 29 strings validated!) I don't want to open up all the lines cause then i might have some people lose their credit while they deserve it :).
Hope that clarifies enough.

Cheers,
Sawyer

In Through the Ages some joker translated 'phalanx' with 'kootje'. That should be changed to 'Falanx'. And some noob wrote produceerd in stead of produceert.

Changed. Thanks for reporting.
I do like to ask you to please refrain from calling them names, there is no need. d or t's always a difficulty in Dutch and Kootje (als in vingerkootje) is first thing that google translate comes up with for phalanx. I do agree that it's annoying that these translators don't look back on their work and confirm whether they are using the words in right context or check whether the autocorrect gives red lines and change spelling accordingly. But there is enough hatred in the world already and we don't need to insult people on such minor things.

Cheers,
Sawyer

Okay sorry, but I seriously thought kootje was meant to be funny.

Hi,
I found a lot of bad translations in Ukrainian after "plush-centaur" (who seems did automatic translation), so I would like to correct all of them.
How can I do that?
Thank you in advance.

go to the translation headquarters!

http://nl.boardgamearena.com/#!translationhq
(its Dutch but you can change language didn't know which one i had to take!)

find the game you saw the bad strings
go to its translation page
check if they are already validated (gold) or nog (green)

if still green you can change them else you'll need to be a respected translator (having made at least 100 validated translations)

On the translation page of specific games you can also search on translations made by the same user.

When the strings are already validated you'll need some1 to unlock them or wait make 100 validated strings (takes at least 30 days, as in the time for a string to become validated). If you desperate to translate the strings i can open them but then need some more details (see earlier posts in this section). Or you can wait - try contacting the developers to let them know and let them give you an account update so you can change validated strings!

cheers,
Sawyer

Hi JackKey,

I checked and plush-centaur translations are already validated, so I updated your account so that you can change them (you may need to logout/login for this to take effect).

As Sawyer explained, you can filter strings by translator from the translation headquarters if you noticed that a specific player has made a lot of translations that need fixing.
For example, plush-centaur translations for the mainsite modules are those:
http://boardgamearena.com/#!translation ... 1532&find=

NB: plush-centaur seems to be Russian, maybe he selected Ukrainian by mistake and translated in Russian instead of Ukrainian?

Anyway, thanks for your interest in making the translations better!

Cheers,
Een

@Sawyer: when linking, you can remove the language prefix (nl. for you), then the site will automatically redirect the player to the proper page according to its selected language :)

Hi Een,

Thank you for the assistance. It`s pleasure to cooperate with you.

P.S> Yes, I assume it was a mistake. Some of his "Ukrainian" translations even contain russian letters which are not present in Ukrainian language.

Best regards,
Jackkey
