Build a new junction?

I know that I'm no allowed to include a junction in a new line I'm building. But I thought I'm allowed to construct a new line which joins the existing one at a later time. I'm in he British map and it isn't offering me that option Is that me or is it a bug?

I think the aswer is that this kind of junction isn't allowed. Under "Build track " and the paragraph headed "Costs to Build a Track Tile " the rules state that "players can build crossover track pieces as necessary but cannot redirect another player's track" Not specific and not clear, but I think it means No!

I knew I'd seen it! Under the rules for Otional Mini-Exxpansions thre is Switch Track", which creates a junction off your own trak. Not cheap thogh - £5,000

I didn’t implement switch track as an option.
It turns out to be super hard to code.
Might be a fun option to have but probably never going to implement it.
