Is there a way to hide Tournaments, etc. about games I just tried and am not interested in?

Post by codemonkey73 »

I recently tried out a couple short games like Can't Stop, Super Mega Box. Now I'm seeing Tournaments and other references to them in my lobby or feed or whatever. Is there any way to turn off those things for games we're not interested in?
Or does it just show those things for the last few games you played?
Honestly I was trying to get up to the 50 unique games played to try to have access to Alpha games.

Does it help if you unfavorite the game? (go to the game page and click "Remove from favorites" in the top right).

The games I don't want to see are already NOT favorites.

That's odd then, maybe it is just games you've played.

Each game X has a group "X players" to which you are added automatically the first time you play. You can search the group and leave it. I don't know if it will have any effect other than not seeing messages from that group. Probably not.

Kind of a follow up to this question. In the forum there are the specific game forums displayed for "games you know" which means any game you've played I think. Is there a way to remove myself from "knowing" a game so that game specific forum no longer shows on the list. It's certainly not intolerable the current way but the organized part of me likes to keep that list to showing just the forums of games I actually play regularly.

If you use chrome or edge browser you can use the BGA chrome extension which has a lot of great features. BGA wiki | BGA forum
Using the extension:

e.g. Hanabi
  1. Find Hanabi
  2. Copy hide cell

    Code: Select all

    #bgaforum_102{display:none !important;}/*hide Hanabi forum*/
  3. Right-click extension icon > Options > Custom CSS tab
  4. Paste & Save
Alternatively hide all and show only select forums:

Code: Select all

.bgaforum{display:none !important;}/*Hide all forums*/

#bgaforum_102{display:block !important;}/*show Hanabi forum*/
