Can anyone tell me why this message pops up for Agricola? I tried googling and Equinox came up with the same issue, and for it, the licence was revoked. I hope it is not the same reason here.

Hi,

No, the license has not expired or been revoked. We reworked the organization of the table settings regarding deck selection to better reflect their current status (that is, fully part of the implementation, not in testing anymore) and to allow for more customization.

This new organization is not compatible with the old setup, which is why we started receiving server errors from tables that had already been created prior to the change but hadn't yet started. As far as I'm aware, there is no issue beyond this and with the approval of the site admins I hope we will be back online ASAP.

how is it that the game is "restricted" and people are playing on a tournament right now

also tests are done off line right? then you update to the website when is all working and ready to go ?

Hi Frank,

The errors were coming from old tables that were created with old settings that don't exist anymore, but had not yet started. When people tried to start those tables after the update, they were sending server errors, causing the BGA admins to step in and temporarily block table creation while they reached out to us to understand what was happening. As it is, there's no reason to suspect that new tables would cause any issues (indeed, this was tested before deployment as you said, and I am successfully playing a turn-based arena game with the new settings), but all the same we have to wait for the BGA admins to unblock us.

Whether we are waiting because they still have concerns or simply because they have not yet had time to take action, I'm not sure, but I have no doubt they want this resolved just as much as we do

I understand better now. Not to be a complainer and do not get me wrong here, I appreciate the platform all the hard work and so many option that people can play for free, and yet it seems to me there should be many more options other then restrict the whole thing, like update an older version while the problem it's being solved. Kinda frustrating because I just got premium because of solo play for this game in specific, I can't get how a solo game option is not available even with a problem like this.
Also I miss spoke when I said tournament I should've said turn-based games.

Two things strike me as very unfortunate here. First is that the error message gives the wrong impression for the current situation and second that a few pending tables are blocking the creation of new tables.

I do very much appreciate that work is being done to allow more control over which combination of decks of the hand cards are put in play (enabled) for a table, but it would have been better to not remove all of the old code for deck selection immediately. Writing a DB query or API call just for a brief transition period would definitely be a pain though.

I first encountered this when trying to start a round this morning at 8am. It’s now almost 7pm and it’s still restricted. I appreciate the explanation but it just feels like no one is in a hurry to fix the problem. Has anyone learned more? Is there a timeline? Thanks.

There are still 7 pending tables at this point. (I didn't bother to check earlier to see how many there were then.)

What it needed is for an administrator to take action, but I don't know what tools they might have to close a table and create a new one with the same players joined/invited to it.
