You didn't answer my question of why they are banned in AUCTION. I don't care how fast you think you can finish if you are losing from a huge bid it's meaningless.

There simply is no reason to ban combinations in auction mode.

The recommendation by the games creator of banning rusviet industrial and crimea patriotic has continued to be implemented in all online modes of play. This is especially unfortunate as they are somewhere around the 5th and 6th strongest combinations in the game (can rank slightly higher or lower depending on the other combinations in play) while far stronger combinations remain playable in non auction settings.

I would again love to advocate for all combinations to be playable in auction mode as the bidding will account for disparities in strength rather than limiting the pool of playable combinations via banning.

I gave you the facts as to why the combinations are banned in auction games. Perhaps you’d instead like to know the reason that Jamey has not unbanned them for auction games. For that you’d have to ask him.

My guess is that when he says (as he has on multiple occasions) that Scythe is done as a game, he means that he will no longer be making any further changes or official tweaks. And since BGA can only implement what the publisher okays, I do not expect any changes in this regard.

Jamey is very active and easy to contact. With the right data I'm sure he'd let us at least have a mode to play as we like (even it it was an "alt" instead of a default.

I'm sad to know that. I would love to see an official balanced version of Scythe... Maybe in the future, in a reprint...
