Starting Color

I am curious to know why people choose specific starting colors? I notice that most people select yellow or blue. I rarely see people pick purple.

I've been experimenting with selecting a different color each game, and I haven't really noticed a correlation between winning the game and picking a specific starting color.

Thoughts on starting colors? Is there strategy behind choosing certain colors or does it not matter in the long run?

I change my starting color each game. Lead singers have the same # of matches for each color. I just always pick the wrong one.
