UNDO

Post by david060742 »

When developing games, if you can take back a move in RL, then your game MUST have a undo option. It's common sense and lazy programming if you don't. Too many games on here are badly written.

Great! We welcome you to the BGA Developer community. https://studio.boardgamearena.com/ has all the info to get started! I'm personally looking forward to your excellent implementations with superb UNDO functionality.

A lot of developers are volunteer developers and undo is not as easy as it may seem and requires a lot of effort. UNDO is still not a mandatory requirement for BGA games, but rather just encouraged.

Never seen a rulebook that says you can take back a move.
The very fact that most developers here are coding games in their free-time for little or no payment proves that they are not lazy. That's quite a defamatory statement, and one that doesn't understand how BGA works. Celebrate the fact you get to play the games at all, rather than berate those that give you the opportunity.

If you have a particular game in mind, then use the bugs/suggestions.

For new games now, undo and/or confirm is available for nearly all games.
And given undo is a very popular feature, there is a growing concern that in real-time games players abusing the undo is ruining the game play experience for their fellow players.

I feel that undo is more function preferred by lazy players who do not think ahead of the consequences of their actions.
When there is a possible misclick in the game due to the interfacing a seperate confirm/ undo options is nice, but complete undo a turn because it did not turn out the way you thought is more irritating than required if you ask me
