Quality of tutorials

I have watched a lot of tutorials and honestly when they ask for a rating most of them for me are a 3. After the tutorial, I seem to have more questions than answers. Each tutorial seems to go through each basic rule 1 time and then it quits. Am I ready to play the game? Not really. I would really like the tutorials to continue until the end of a game. For many of these games, it's in the scoring where there is understanding. Can I muddle through my first game after a tutorial? Yes, this is why I can give it a 3. If muddling through a game is the goal of a live tutorial then sure I could rate it higher, but most of the time when I finish a tutorial, I have to play a game 4/5 more times before I get basic understanding, harder games like ark nova, I had to go on YouTube and find more resources and I'm just now feeling like I have a 20% chance of winning a game.

I don't understand why today I'm being asked to give it a higher rating, if I'm not confident in the tutorial. My ask would be for each tutorial to complete a game vs stopping in the middle.

I haven't had that experience, but it depends which games both you and I are taking tutorials on. Typically, yes, they give you an example of each rule once, or maybe explain it and then give you a chance to enact it ("can you see the right move to make here?" kind of thing), and while they may not go to the end (some do), usually final scoring is explained.

I would suggest if you notice a pattern for a particular tutorial maker, or if you think a tutorial really needs something, send a message to the person who made the tutorial and give your feedback. I've done this before and I've found tutorial makers receptive to feedback, so long as it's phrased as helpful feedback ("I would have liked to see an example of final scoring") rather than just complaints ("your tutorial is bad"). Even 4-5 games into playing the game, if you realise there's something that should have been worthwhile in the tutorial, that feedback is useful and helpful to others who may come along later.

You also have the option of making your own tutorials if you wanted to, but that is obviously a bunch of extra work.

To add to what nik said, I'm pretty sure that nobody is getting aid to make the tutorials. They're all voluntary.
