I would be happy to help test when testers are needed. I play games in person, on TTS, and async on Discord.

I don't qualify for testing TI4, but i have been wanting to play this ever since i was told about it. My real life bubble doesn't have any hardcore board gamers, so i am forced to play online. It would be grand if you could post updates about the progress. Like will TI4 be released in 2024? Or are we looking at 2025 or later. I know TI4 is pretty complex game and these things need time and testing, but an update know and then would be amazing! :D

I don't want to estimate a date yet. Just as a tiny bit of status, I am currently working on all the nuances of the tactical action. For anyone unfamiliar with TI4, the tactical action has a ton of phases and steps / substeps / timing windows, so I want to be sure it's designed carefully.

I'm so excited to see this amazing game come to BGA. Only played it twice and not the level of rules knowledge required to be alpha tester. But thanks so much for must be some really challenging work. I've read the rule book several times and it must be such a challenge to capture all the conditional events in this game.

Please include me with your testers as well. I run a live TI4 game with the POK expansion at my place ever 4-6 weeks. I have taught the game multiple times at public venues, so I am very familiar with the rules.

Is the tactical action still WIP? It’s been like 3 months now since you said you were working on it.

Indeed, the tactical action took me a massive amount of time. Even though it only includes 5 "steps", I identified 14+ substeps within 2 of those 5 steps, and there were roughly 15-20 different GUI interfaces throughout the tactical action if my notes are accurate.

Each interface involves designing and programming both the PHP and JS side, testing the integration, making it ready to support future effects, and supporting undo / reset as much as possible. Each interface sometimes also involves weird rules edge cases, working with FFG to resolve them, and sometimes reworking parts of the game to be more robust.

My current goal is to reach the Production step by Monday. That interface is more complex than other Production interfaces so I anticipate at least another week to finish it, but at that point all the basic tactical action logic is theoretically complete. Then comes more work for effects, the status / agenda phases, and so forth before I start recruiting private alpha testers.
