English Language Date Format

When I first saw the mm/dd/yyyy format being used, I just assumed "American website", of course it's written back to front by European standards. Then I discovered that the website isn't American at all, and that the date was changed around in the English language version for our "benefit".

This is a nice accommodating feature, and I don't begrudge Americans the opportunity to look at dates in the order they are used to. However, I would personally love to have the option to have dates written in the dd/mm/yyyy format, like the rest of Europe gets to.

Check the Language tab of your Preferences (admittedly not where I would of looked first either)... if you check the box, you can use the date format year-month-day instead

Date format
By default, dates are displayed with the default format for your language. In some cases, it may be confusing, so you can choose to use the unambiguous ISO 8601 standard format instead.

That is certainly helpful for not having to decode the date every time I see it. Thanks for that

I would still prefer to have the date formattable to how it's written where I live though, especially as it's a very common way of writing the date worldwide, and much more common than the format that it defaults to for my language.
