iOS App

Post by ElliElvira »

Is there something new about a BGA-App for iOS? I hate to play on a mobile device.

No. Even if there were, it wouldn't change the behavior. iOS renders everything through its native web browser engine, even when using other web browsers. All of BGA's games are built with browser interface using javascript and each game would require a complete rewrite to work with an app rather than a browser.

Misleading answer. iOS/iPadOS renders everything in *web browser apps* through its native web browser engine. A BGA app would definitionally not be a web browser app. Unclear to me why BGA seems so uninterested in having one, especially since they've had an Android app for over two years.

'Android BGA app' is also a browser in a different form.

Wishful thinking, but ultimately untrue. All of BGA's games are built with browser interface using javascript and each game would require a complete rewrite to work with an app rather than a browser.

The Android version of the BGA app is just a wrapper around the browser because BGA only works in a browser. It's not a simple matter of "just make it into an app without a browser" because they're inexorably linked. You'd have to rewrite each game to make it work otherwise.
