New time skip rules - Can't move and reported bug. Other opt

So I started a turn-based game of Northwest Passage: http://en.3.boardgamearena.com/northwes ... e=12063376

My opponent never made a single move and then quit. But now the game is frozen and won't get past saying "Application Loading." If I click the icon in the upper right to abandon or quit the game, it doesn't work... it just takes me to the game overview page. I reported this bug: http://en.boardgamearena.com/#!bug?id=2211

This situation is pretty annoying because because it's now my oldest open game. Whenever I'm on the site it says that I have a move to make but I can't do anything on that page. If I make a move in a different game and click "go to next table" it takes me to the broken game and I have to go back to the BGA homepage and manually pick each game that I want to make a move in. It's a big pain!

Is there anything else at all I can do? Let's be honest, these bug fixes sometimes take months for the Devs to get to if they get to them at all. There's a bigger bug in Northwest Passage that has many more upvotes that hasn't been addressed in almost six months. I even tried mentioning it in the forum post about the new skipping rules for abandoned games and it got ignored. Is there any way at all that I can get this game removed? ACK!

Thanks for pointing this out. Indeed, in a game broken in such a way that it doesn't load, there was no way left for players to bring an end to the game.
We have now reinstated the "quit" button on the table page to make it possible to "force quit" a broken game.

About bug fixing: some developers do a wonderful job of programming a game in the studio, and then drift to other things (that's life). So, if no other developer in the community steps up to fix bugs appearing later, unfortunately they are here to stay. Fixing a bug in another developer's code is much more difficult and time consuming than in one's own code: time available to the admins couln't possibly be enough to maintain all the games.

Long story short, if there is a developer caring enough about a game to want to fix bugs left unattended, please create a studio account and contact us to get write rights on the game.

Unfortunately, I either am not understanding correctly or the quit button isn't working for me. Are you talking about the icon in the very upper-right of the game page with a rectangle and the arrow pointing out of it? Unfortunately, that's not even working in this table. When I click that I don't get the normal options (concede, propose to abandon, leave, etc.). It just takes me back to the game overview page: http://en.boardgamearena.com/#!table?table=12063376 but then the game is still open in my list.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking?

I understand the limitations with the bug fixes. It's unfortunate, but as you said, that's life!

Yes, when the page doesn't load, the "Exit" icon in the very upper-right of the game page is a link to get back to the table overview (that will load correctly and so enable actions to be done).

Once you get there, you should see a "Quit" button under the game image. If that's not the case, it's a bug (in the main site, so we should fix it... please let me know).

Oh dear. It's so obvious now. Thanks for the explanation. I was busy looking on the game page. Sorry and I appreciate the help!! Woohoo!

Edit: Uh oh. I spoke too soon. Even after quitting from the overview page, the game still shows up in my games in progress list and still wants me to make a move. Interestingly, the quit option no longer appears on the overview page.

Sorry for the delay, there were in fact multiple problems on top of another with this game.
It's now fixed thanks to sourisdudesert.
