In my assessment, participation in the Arena does not align with principles of fair competition due to the presence of Red Thumbs.

Addressing disruptive behavior should involve reporting and subsequent banning for the duration of the season.

Individuals such as "master of bluff" would not feel compelled to establish multiple accounts if Red Thumbs were disabled.

The issue of unjustified Red Thumb ratings demands serious attention from BGA.

Whether it pertains to Hanabi or any other game, players are receiving Red Thumbs based on their skill levels or simply because they are not liked. This situation has contributed to the proliferation of multiple accounts.

There are valid reasons for having multiple accounts (tutorial creation is one reason), but you're not supposed to play with multiple accounts competitively.

BGA Rules stipulate:

It is acceptable to own several accounts on BGA, as long as it is reasonable and does not violate another rule of the website.

What is absolutely forbidden?
On Board Game Arena, it is absolutely forbidden to:
Insult other players in any manner.
Create multiple accounts and play against oneself to boost one's ranking.
Trolling, admin-bashing, moderator-bashing, empty critics or defamation.
Breaking these rules can lead to the removal of your account and/or a ban from the website.

THE RULES SHOULD BE MADE CRYSTAL CLEAR!

Or accept that trying to make people behave like computers is a losing proposition, and the harder you try to nail down the rules, the more bad actors will find ways to manipulate things to be as toxic as possible (or cheat) while being within the rules.

General rules allow for moderator interpretation of behavior - which, admittedly, suffers from dealing with the human angle on both sides. Sometimes the Moderator can be wrong. Sometimes the bad actor can manipulate things enough to make it look like they're the victim.

The act of giving Red Thumbs for skill levels or personal preference is, in my view,
tantamount to unfair practice and undermining the integrity of the system.

The system offers two distinct modes: Simple Mode and Arena Mode.
For those desiring selective play, the recommended option is Simple Mode.
Conversely, Arena Mode is designed to facilitate equitable competition.

I got insulted once in an arena game of Draftosaurus (3 players). The guy insulted me being in contact with/or just be the other player.

His evidence? We were both from germany and my playstyle to do somehting secific (I do it in every game for a reason) which he didn't understand. I told him that the other guy has 6500 played games and we played in 7 together, same amount of games I had against the insulting guy so we are obviously not the same account (and ofc I didn't know the guy).

He was completely insulting me every turn, offer to abandon the game so I wrote something like "you are an idiot".

Guess what happens? I got moderated and he not. Even the full chat was full of insults.

So don't tell me "insult other players" is forbidden. It's more like "don't tell somebody he is dumb".
