3rd player should not lose less ELO than 2nd

Allying against the leader is in the spirit of the game. Giving penalties according to the ranking incites 2nd to focus on maintaining their ranking rather than trying to take the lead. I have witnessed it and I argue that it increases the risk/reward ratio of "all-in moves" and even sometimes leads to unexpected situations in which 3rd and 2nd fights while the 1st player is not bothered.

I completely agree with this statement. Rules should be changed.
