player not playing

Post by Boardedup »

Hello all. I have player 2 days late for their turn and not responding to message. How do I kick them out of the game. It looks like a lively topic but I haven't found how to actually do it. Thanks!

You click the big button at the top which says something like "Expel". It will warn you about the penalties they will receive, but if you've waited a reasonable time, I'd probably be doing the same. That said, it looks like the player has now taken their turn, so hopefully they will continue to play so you can finish the game.

Sorry, I don't see that button. There is a button in red at the top of the game layout to skip the player, but still I don't see anyway to expel them.

If the player is not responding to chat, and is out of time, you may skip them (which will also expel them). Then you can quit the game.

skip = expel

There should also be a link saying something like "this player is not responding, what can I do?"

Thanks All! I didn't realize skip = expel. Seems like it should be more explicit. One may only want to skip (one time) a late player's turn thinking the late player can rejoin next turn, but not intending to expel them.
Anyway, that answers it I believe.

Just had a game where the player deliberately didnt do their last turn, it would be great if we could just skip them and continue with the game. It is so annoying that as they are on 100 ELO they do not lose anything apart from some reputation, which can be got back quickly enough. I tried messaging the person but they ignored me :shock:
