Season 18 Complete Card Ranking:
https://github.com/RuneDK93/terraformin ... /cards.txt

So I am seeing a lot of counter productive plays in this season I want to point out. Will add more later:
1. People destroy their own games early by SP cities with excessive cash in early gens, even Tharsis would lose a game like that; even let's say it's a 5 points city spot don't do it. You don't need points in the beginning. Point efficiency is meaningless at this point of the game.
2. Don't play Earth Catapult and/or AI Central, then play cards like Soletta or an oxygen pumper, what are you doing? You want to make the game to end early so you can't blew your opponents off the board past Gen 11?
3. Thorgate is still so under played, if you see a oxygen pumper, and couple energy tags who cares if you have Credicor as your other Corp. Card and corp synergy beats out top corps or cards every time. I rank Thorgate above Tharsis and MG.
4. Save your cash, if I don't need minerals, don't play mines on Gen 1 as ecoline or UNMI. If you got nothing to do, just pass it's OK, I have no problem passing Gen 1 and 2 and play nothing.
5. Take care yourself first, don't worry about other players. If you can get a good ocean rebate do that, don't block other players' city spots, you only deny a single point and set your own game back. Buy and play sabo set yourself back in a 3 player's game.

I have sent in my Guru pool suggestion, give it an upvote and comments so BGA would consider a change: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=140954

Thanks for sharing. On the point of saving your cash; sometimes playing early production can pay off later when you draw something. In that context, there are times when it would seem an efficient play to play that mine or such as opposed to just passing with the credits up etc. . Of course, the details matter; if passing with money up will get a better position to win (secure a milestone, play a higher priority card next gen, etc. ), then that play is probably the best strategy.

Best wishes.

It's a really delicate balance, if you are 300 to 400 elo just play that mine on gen1. But once you are more experienced and playing TR corps like ecoline and UNMI, if there is no steel targets you are shooting for, try to skip buying that mine, after you mastered the balance you will score so much higher.

With corps like Saturn and science payoffs, go ahead and build your engine.

I don't know if that's the way it works in BGA, but if it does - this suggestion has my proverbial bow.

I'm not sure if any of the TFM gurus play Arena. Given I haven't got enough activity despite winning it last season and RoyalRook doesn't despite being first placed now and with a lot of games, it does make we wonder who they are?

If you are a guru can you let us know what you're putting forward please.

How many ranked games per month does it take to become guru for TM? Is there a link to a page, that shows this? Sorry if this is too off-topic

You have to be top 100 player of games played with 90+ reputation. The system need to be changed to top 100 elo or better yet arena points with 90+ reputation. Because it's just ridiculous that players like me are not included. People who actually participate in arena should decide the next season.

Right now most guru doesn't even vote, 20 to 30 votes in total per category decides the next season when I was a guru.

Right, so people who do not play a season because they don't like the settings will be forever excluded.

AFAIK, some of the bigger games like 7 wonders and TerraMysica have a pre-determined Arena cycle.
Hopefully you get something for everyone at some point during the year, rather than stuck in a rut and it's all you can eat for some and the others just don't bother or want to.
