Several unfinished Alchemists projects

Post by cranflavin »

I'm new to the BGA developer community, so Hi!

I see 3 unfinished Alchemists projects on the Studio Projects page. I'd be interested in working on that game. Anyone have any inside information on what's happening there?

You better write those devs directly I would say. But as far as I can see theere was no changes since June this year so you probably are free to go :)
Would be greeat to have Alchemists on BGA...

Being a developer who tried to work on Alchemists a few years ago, the game is really complex to code ss a first experience. The starter mode is pretty straightforward, but the expert mode is another matter altogether. You can pm me here or on Discord should you wish to get the art, I should have the file somewhere on one of my computers. I'd be delighted to help you start with it, although I'm more of a backend developer than a front end guy...

is the reason there isn't an alchemist game just because there are no community developers who make it?

Because if that's the only reason, then I can take a stab at it.

Considering the complexity of this game and you being new here, it might not be the best idea. BGA Framework has it's own learning curve to go through, even if you already know PHP and JS/HTML/CSS.

I'll look into it, I'm a fast learner, and I really want this game to be available. So if no one else is doing it, I will do it eventually.

If someone is actively working on it already, I can help.

This is really great news. I'm not a developer but I've been waiting for this game on BGA for years. Thanks for your efforts

I admire your approach. I invite you to check out BGA's discord channel in case you stumble upon some issues. Best of luck to you!

No. It's a graveyard of dead projects.
