I used to play this game daily and consistently. At some point, I was responsible for 50% of the matches played so far on BGA. I quit playing about a month ago; yet, I return every other day since I feel like I would definitely like to play again. But a big reason for my quitting was and still is the ever-growing amount of bugs which no one at BGA seems to care about. And it seems like others stopped playing on a regular basis as well.

Thanks for keeping this post updated regularly. But let's face the truth... BGA doesn't care anymore; and Monolith Games doesn't care either. This was a mere publicity campaign for the latest Game of Mythic Battles. It's sad and it isn't "gg" but rather "ppp" (piss poor performance) by BGA. But I guess there is no bloody chance in hell that BGA will start fixing bugs after laying idle for about half a year.

BGA is a platform. So, ultimately the publisher is in charge of their games (including its quality).
BGA can't release and/or keep the game without consent of the publisher.
As they decided to release the game with tons of bugs, I think they didn't care that much after all.

About the dev... Well, someone else has to take on the mantle voluntarily, like Decrypto.

While it is true that BGA is a platform, in my opinion, that does not absolve them of responsibility for the content they "sell." I believe that the publisher of any game on BGA should have an interest in the quality of the application of their board game on BGA. However, the major responsibility, in my opinion, lies with the host of the platform. In the end, it is BGA who profits from players playing games on BGA, for example, by earning money from premium users.

Take video platforms like Amazon or Netflix, for instance. They offer video content from big studios. Imagine them uploading this content in poor quality or with flaws that make it almost impossible to enjoy. I think hardly anyone would blame Paramount Studios for that. In both cases, it is the host of the platform who is to blame.

Because they spend tons of money and effort to produce and host those contents as well.
In contrast, BGA doesn't work like that. It's more like Steam, with less power and less profit.
They don't (actually can't) invest a large sum of money to secure games, therefore they have less control compared to those video platforms.

In short, the ideal model is simply unsustainable due to the cost. BGA can't even hire sufficient number of staff members.
They have to share premium profits with the publishers, then they have to pay salaries and bills.
For example, before Asmodee acquisition they couldn't set up more servers due to the cost and the site stopped frequently.
Now they have more money, but much more traffic and other expenses to cover as well.

tldr: If someone who wants to play the game doesn't take over, the game will stay like this forever, probably.
