Is it normal for a player to be added to 13 games simultaneously?

Just happened to me.

You registered in a "Groups format" tournament, where both stages have the format "round robin": https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=252735

In this type of tournament, yes it is normal to have up to 13 games commence simultaneously, as discussed in this thread: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34935
