How does strength work, possible bug?

Am trying to play an aggression card and get an error, my strength is 12 the opponent is 9. How does this card work and what am I missing here?

I looked at your game. It looks like you had the pact "Promise of Military Protection" in play which had boosted your strength from 8 to 12. You were trying to attack the other party in your pact, but that pact ends when one party attacks the other. In the section of the rules about playing an aggression, it says "You cannot attack a player whose strength equals or exceeds yours." and "Do not include bonuses from pacts that end if you attack."

Ok, thanks for that Shivaware, the game error message wasn't clear on why it would not work.

Edit: Yes, the pact was with the player I attacked, but nowhere on the screen or card does it say who the pact was made with, so would need to go through game history to figure it out. The game feels like it could be great but at the moment the interface is designed for someone who has already played it IRL several times and knows all the rules back to front. Luckily the community is good, thanks for helping me out with my noob questions.

Pact cards are displayed in both player's play areas. So when you forgot who you made a pact with, you can look at the other boards and see who has the matching card.

Btw - how is this don in the physical game? Are there really additional cards included?

Just 1 card.

You keep track by how you position it.
-If it is an asymmetrical pact, you place it in your area but near the later you made the pact with and angle it so the A and B sides are closest to whichever player is represented by them.
-If it is a symmetrical pact, you have it in your area near your pact partner and angle it so the top of the card is pointing towards them.
