What are shenanigans? Zibest was my friend and I thought it was a bug that his elo dropped so low

Shenanigans means they were probably caught breaking the site rules in a way that affected their Wingspan rating unfairly.

This can happen if someone is caught using multiple accounts, or if someone is boosting the account to help them win, etc., or otherwise breaking rules. Only the mods know what exactly the punishment was for.

I'm a little scared. How could someone be caught using multiple accounts. Same IP? What's about family? Wingspan (Arena) is a two player game. How could you push yourself? Someone posted proud his alternative account, how fast he got expert... I haven't seen a penalty there.

1) They aren't going to tell us what criteria they use to determine this, because that teaches people how to avoid detection.
2) No, simply using the same IP isn't it. Having players (such as family members) playing from the same IP is not prohibited. In fact, it's a benefit of getting Premium.

Two-player games would be the easiest. The basic idea is that you control two accounts and play them against each other and have one lose to the other constantly.

Putting aside the propriety of having an alt account at all, I've never seen merely having an alt account punished. It's having multiple accounts and using one of them to lose to the other that gets punished. Was this person accused of doing that?

That said, I'm not saying this is what the person the OP was referring to did. I'm just addressing the most common scenario of ELO being reset.

OK thanks!
This still a little bit scary. Why should you cheat? For what? The trophies? You can paint a picture for your self and note I'm the greates... it has the same quality. What ever - to all of you guys enjoy playing and have fun! :)

Fragile ego? Deriving pleasure from upsetting other people? Deriving pleasure from getting away with it? Some delusional notion that you're helping by exposing a flaw in the system?

I imagine they're all psychologically broken in some way. But not necessarily all the same way.

You already found the links of games so it’s super obvious that the Elo was reset to 0, not 1x.
