Greeni3000 wrote: 13 November 2024, 21:05 Same here, I still play and teach base game from time to time, so I know the base game rules very, very well (including the old agendas).

Btw one question, will this build include Codex I (and/or the two codex III base game secret objectives)?
No expansion or codex content will be included at first. Prophecy of Kings might happen eventually, and I would guess that codex content would be a lower priority (but I don't make the decisions).
Oof, that's sad to hear. The techs/promissory notes that were replaced in Codex 1 were almost completely useless. And they would be so easy to implement. PoK will be a huge task compared to that. But I understand that it's not in your hands. Thanks for your hard work, I'm looking forward to it anyway!

Any software engineer hates hearing "easy to implement", since some things that seem easy may be very hard. :D

That said, I already have a FAQ bug report entry since I expect to hear MANY variations of this:

"I only play TI4 with Prophecy of Kings"
"I only play TI4 with these 2 codex modules"
"I only play TI4 with these house rules and a custom draft"

The answer to all these is the same for now -- we start with the base game, and if the community is friendly and successful, consider if anything will follow.

I'm interested by this statement:

"(but I don't make the decisions)."

Does that mean this an official development projcet from FFG? If so - I'm a little surprised that's is being developed by a single person.
With one apparent dev, I thought this was a "i've got the time and interest' community type thing.

It is indeed solo dev, and yes working with FFG. The BGA Studio system does not make it easy for teams to work on projects since it is basically a single synced folder. I know some devs work in pairs where one does front end and one does back end, but that is mostly the extent.

damn, that sounds rough, and somewhat archaic

btw, when you get to more broad testing alpha I'm willing to test too

For anyone new to BGA, it was created as a hobby project long ago as the original devs learned things on the fly. Knowing this, I sympathize a bit with the esoteric details.

That said, most major games are like this -- Ark Nova was 2 devs, for example, and many are just 1.
