How can I unsubscribe to games forums of no interest to me?

In principle I know how to to do this. Every game has a group of its of players. These groups determine which forums you see. If you unsubscribe to this group you know longer see the forum. However I cannot find any definite way of doing so. It is just that by chance I occasionally find the group.

I'm not sure if you already know how to find the group for each game. If not, you can find the group by going to the Community tab of the main BGA navigation links, then searching for the game name under "Find a group." The group for each game has a format "<Game Name> players." Go to that group, and click "Quit group." You can usually tell which is the "official" group because it has thousands or even hundreds of thousands of members (like "Azul"). Sometimes the game name includes spaces, like "Gaia Project players," and sometimes the game name is smooshed together, like "Greatwesterntrail players."

But if you know all that and are looking for a more efficient way to do it for many games at once, this has been asked for before and I'm not aware of a less cumbersome way to do it.

Okay that seems to work. However I can still see the forums I have unsubscribed from.

The forums are different to the player groups - you can't hide (unsubscribe to) the forum for particular games. I believe they're supposed to at least pop ones for games you know (have played) up higher in the list but when you play a lot of games, that can be a lot of forums.

On the very bottom of the forum page there is a box "Subscribe Forum" that you can uncheck. That should hopefully do the trick.

I found the checkbox, but it does not seem to work.

That checkbox will subscribe you to updates in a forum - unless you've specifically gone and subscribed at some point, you shouldn't need to do anything with it. Once you have clicked it to subscribe, it changes to unsubscribe, and yes, this does unsubscribe you to updates in that forum, but if you weren't subscribed in the first place, you won't notice anything different. Additionally, it won't hide the forum for you, as far as I'm aware there is no way to do that.

Yes. For example, I subscribe to the "BGA release notes" forum and when it's updated I get the same kind of notification you get when someone quotes your post.

Are you trying to remove forums from the "Games You Know" section of the Forums page? I asked about that here: viewtopic.php?p=193806#p193806 Somebody replied with a link to a Google spreadsheet but I haven't tried it out.
