BGA supervisors: I'm not sure what to do. Please help.

Twice in a row today, I have had situations come up where I have had NO CHOICE but to put a game on hold because I HAD TO attend to family matters. In both instances, I politely asked not to be kicked out to I could attend to the issues, and both times, without any response whatsoever, I was kicked out (when people could have easily changed it to turn-based), reducing my karma by 40% because people were unkind and impatient.

This system is HIGHLY UNBALANCED when that can happen and crush my karma because other people don't know how to be kind to each other, and i have to play FORTY games to get my karma back from that happening in JUST TWO games. That does not seem fair at all, especially in this instance.

Please contact me about options. I pay to be a premiere member, and this specific element is horribly imbalanced. At the very least, I ask that you manually give those karma points back to me, as this was not my fault, this was not intentional, this was not something I could avoid, and I specifically asked the other players to be kind and patient, and they couldn't even be bothered to respond to my request.

It is truly a shame that I am being penalized and punished because people don't know how to be good humans to each other.

People tend to ignore or turn off the chat, or don't speak the same language.

Karma can be regained easily after a few short games. I know it feels bad, but don't stress it.

Your opponents are not obligated to play turn-based when they agreed to a real time game. Turn-based is a completely different format and the timeframe is an eternity in comparison. If an extreme circumstance comes up sometimes you just have to take the loss and move on. It's irritating but not devastating, consistent play easily overturns an occasional reputation smack.

The reason you lost 20 Karma on both is because you have been timing out on games relatively frequently. Every 2 or 3 days you are running out of time and being removed from games. That is also why your Karma is currently below 40% instead of at 60%. Karma is easy to build back up as long as you complete games within the time limitations of the table.

It is unfortunate that you had a family emergency to attend to, but the other players who wanted a real time game should be free to leave a game instead of making it turn based. If this happens frequently might I suggest joining turn based tables instead? Then if you have a family emergency it will not negatively impact the other players.

Completely irrelevant. The rules of the site are the same rules for everyone. There is not one set of rules for the "free to play" users that the "premium" users get to ignore.

Yes, you had THE CHOICE of not starting/joining a real-time game when YOU KNOW that you may not be able to finish the game in time.

Seems like it was Azul, looking at your most recent expulsion. Your two opponents expected to fill 15-20 minutes with a short game. Perhaps they too had family responsibilities to attend to after their game and this was the only time they had to squeeze in what should be a quick game. Perhaps their family situation doesn’t allow for turn based games. Your disappearance may have left them in a dilemma. They came to play, not get two minutes in and a sudden crisis has blown up for you.

As others say, it’s quick to build back rep but you’ve timed out and been expelled multiple times in the last 60 days. That should tell you something. Picking or setting up turn based games might be a better solution for you.

I've seen posters get bullied for less here so the overall mood of this thread is surprising. The system is horribly unbalanced but it is actually way too lenient for you. You are receiving penalties in 25% of your recent games and are demanding to speak to supervisors to have your karma fully reinstated "at the very least" You aren't even receiving the full elo loss (if any at all) because your elo can't fall below 100.

I do agree that your opponents could've been kind on your last game considering it was only 2 moves in and you had the advantage. But they are not obligated to unfortunately. The option to abandon collectively is better imo because asking for turn based would be inconveniencing your opponents.

Try turn-based games instead, it's much more lenient.
