After I come back to the tab when my opponent plays a game, all the images are missing, and it takes a minute for the tab to refresh. It always works correctly after refreshing (manually or automatically, but it takes a minute). I am guessing it is some mechanic to save memory in Firefox, and I would like to disable it, but I don't really know how.

I don't play anything besides Ark Nova right now, so I don't know if it is game-specific, but other websites are not exhibiting this behaviour. I am not sure its a bug, so I didn't think creating a bug report was the right choice to get help. Anyone have any suggestions? (Or maybe I should create a bug report after all?)

Thanks.
Thanks for the insights and the workaround! I have upgraded my debian recently and noticed the exact same issue, which is really paiful when you are developping games and switching from one tab to another. I thought it was my computer that was getting a bit old but now I see it's just a setting to save memory that I shall disable!

Hello. Just wanted to post an update here. The problem kept coming back, and I believe I've finally fixed it for good. (Re-installing Firefox would have fixed it, but I didn't want to do that.) .. I noticed my disk cache was 1GB, so I cleared the cache from Firefox settings, and also disabled disk cache (memory cache only). Now the same behavior (where the card pictures show blank and then fill in) that was taking like 20 seconds takes 1 sec... Not sure if my cache was corrupt or what, but the behavior seems to be gone. Other things I did that might also have had an effect were turning off "tab warmup" feature, and reducing the amount of pinned tabs from 12 to 7. I honestly think it was the cache, though.
