If you are talking about your most recent game at the last major phase 14 colonists would have been refilled. But since only 12 were left, those 12 were refilled and the game end condition was triggered.

If you think that 6 should have been refilled then you probably just missed the yellow player. He alone had 8 open spots in his building area. You probably only counted the 6 open spots of the first three players...

yes, the yellow one has 8 spots, but only one in buildings, the other are on plantations. The rule says that the conolonists fill the ship only from the spots of the buildings.

, and about the last move (no. 300) that finished the game.

Yellow had 16 colonist spots in buildings and exactly 8 were occupied. Since 8 spots are open, he alone contributes 8 colonists refilling. Note that all cononists spots on his plantations were occupied but this does not count anyways (you cited the rules correctly).

Together with the other players this amounts to 14 colonists, thus all remaining 12 colonists were refilled.

Sorry now i understand the rule. I tought that buildings were only yellows one.
