This question is asked with genuine curiousity. I am looking to understand why people stop playing with only a few turns left in the game and why this happens repeatedly. For clarification the games are not being conceded the individuals just stop playing. Is this an online gaming thing I haven't heard of yet? And why is there not more consequences to discourage this type of behavior?
Why do people stop playing with only a few turns left?

I don't know if this is because I play 2 player or if it's because I set rating filters for a lot of my games, but I haven't had this happen very often.

Thank you for replying. What settings do you use? Right now I have 3 player, good player, and very restrictive. I thought the very restrictive part would help...

I just have it set to being ok with playing "Near my level" on the "Play Now" screen (I'm currently in the 500s for Wingspan, which I think makes it that I get 300+ players. If I drop into the 400s it might allow 200s again. That's my estimation on how it works from observation.) I use the "Play Now" button because I host multiple games, Wingspan is just one of my side games. I don't have reputation filters. I don't know if it's the rating filters, the 2 player, or both, but I just haven't had this issue among most of the games I play.warnerhp9415 wrote: ↑07 December 2024, 00:52Thank you for replying. It's because the player realizes he/she no longer can win. Maybe it was a bad feeder reset, maybe it was a bonus card that wasn't going to be hit, maybe it was the card you just played, or maybe it was an unwinnable end of round goal that removed all hope of their victory. I think it's fine. Saves me a little time and I can pretty easily do the math at the end of the game to figure out my score if it matters to me.

Quoting the OP. I get this part...that they think they can't win. But why do they stop playing and not concede? I feel like this is bad sportsmanship... It leaves the others waiting to see if they are going to finish and then they have to expel them from the game.Natural_Tvventy wrote: ↑08 December 2024, 05:26 It's because the player realizes he/she no longer can win. Sometimes they go off-line for various reasons. Like their Internet goes out. Or they have an emergency and they don’t say something to you. Sometimes people have blocked chat so they can’t hear why somebody is leaving.
I do not find this happen very often. But when it does, I click over to their profile and see if they are still online.
Can always give a thumb to not play with them again
