Major connectivity issues to bga in the past week or two

Post by memeasaurusrex »

has anyone else had a lot of delays or dead connections to bga lately? I'm constantly getting disconnects or frozen live games, clicking on almost anything, whether to go start a board or join an arena real time match gives a red "are you connected to the internet" error or sits loading for over a minute. Happening constantly over the past week where I nearly lost a live game because it showed waiting on the other person, and when my messages in chat weren't going through a refresh showed it was my turn with less than 20 sec to go. Did a speedtest and I'm at 940mbps down/915up definitely a bga exclusive problem on my pc

What geographical region are you in? I actually haven't noticed any game problems recently, it's been very solid. I'm US on a wired connection.

Same. This has been a pleasant span of connection stability for me. I'm using a cable modem that I connect to wirelessly.

I just got disconnected with everyone else and the people who did not disconnect booted me. Is there a way for this to be corrected or is the website that ridiculously bad?

I've been playing today without any issues, and as the other poster noted, the game servers have seemed especially solid recently.

That doesn't help your specific situation, but it is hard to say why it happened if you were on a wired connection.

I do note that like the earlier poster, you are also in Texas? Maybe there is a routing / DNS situation going on that could affect people in Texas.

I also note you have 30+ timeout or leave penalties in the last 30 days. Has it been exclusively due to connection problems?

I had a connection issue at about this time, but it resolved within a couple minutes for me. I wasn't playing a game at the time. You can see on this page that there was a dip in the number of moves played larger than the normal variation around 40 minutes ago. I would screenshot that before it ages out. This is a rare case in which they may actually do something even if it isn't an issue they detected themselves.

Actually, I grabbed a screenshot, although it's still very noticeable even if you zoom out to the 24 hours resolution.

People in Terraforming mars will boot you at start while picking out your prelude cards because they feel the need to gain points on a leaderboard that mean nothing in reality

I'm in Alberta and I've been getting loading errors for over 6 hours now. Can't play anything.

I tried a couple of your in-progress games and they loaded without issue. :(
