Connection Issues Dec 18th

Was playing over ISP WIFI. (CANADA)
Suddenly can't connect ... HTTP ERROR 500.

Turn off my phone WIFI and use my cell phone data.
No connection issues.

So trying to work out if it's a selective issue due to my ISP or if BGA website is blocking my IP address.

This site has others with same problem.

It's a known thing that is affecting very specific users (e.g. someone in west coast US cannot access the site, but east coast US can -- see this thread https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 9&start=10). Unfortunately Europe is asleep, so if there is anything BGA can do, it will probably not be for another 5 hours.

Glad I saw this, it confirms it's not just me. I am also on the west coast in U.S. mostly unable to access the site. This public page and some others remain accessible, but unfortunately I cannot link through to the thread you shared, that remains inaccessible.

To be suddenly unable to load the site on home Internet but have it function normally on cell network feels rather mysterious. Why does this happen to BGA in particular?

(I am having this issue on US West Coast, but problem is also happening in Canada from what friends tell me.)

Same issue here. I am in Toronto, Canada

I cannot connect either. I see a blank white screen on my browser tab for https://boardgamearena.com/ and https://en.boardgamearena.com/ I used Firefox and Microsoft Edge to test, using my WiFi, NordVPN on my WiFi, and even my cell phone (Verizon iPhone 15 Pro) hotspot with no success. For part of the evening, I was able to use my partner's cell phone hot spot, but eventually, even that connection failed and attempts to reconnect also failed.

I can, obviously, connect to https://forum.boardgamearena.com/ and read and post comments on forum threads.

I normally connect via Sonic Fiber in the SF Bay Area in Berkeley, CA. My game group compatriots include a couple who have the same ISP (Sonic Fiber) and are located within about a mile of me in the same city (Berkeley). This evening, they had no problems connecting during the time that I was having serious problems.

Is this a problem with a CDN or with a faulty load balanced server? I'm pretty skilled/knowledgeable about web applications, internet architecture, and network troubleshooting, and have been wracking my brains to try to figure out how to connect to the site for gaming.

Such a strange bug. I restarted my router multiple times thinking it was only my home wi-fi. Glad to see I'm not the only. I will play on mobile internet until this gets resolved.

I'm also having issues. I saw on the unofficial BGA Facebook fan page that disconnecting from WiFi on your phone works. That's how I'm able to write this. But from my laptop or WiFi connected phone I get the 500 series error.

Same outage here in central Texas (I'm just north of Austin). Even the server status page, https://boardgamearena.com/serverstatus, is broken with "HTTP ERROR 500"
