Hi, we're planning to run a competitive series of tournaments here on BGA against competing national teams. Mostly this has been organised on the Azul discord channel (https://discord.gg/TSEb8HTjGJ).

Teams currently comprise of 3+ people per team from the same nation, with one member being the captain and taking on the role of putting the competitive team together for the first tournament. We're looking for 3 players to complete in the first tournament, but if popularity grows we'll look to expand on this number.

The closing data to build a national team of at least 3 people is December 1st. If anyone would like any help please let me know.
After that, I expect a discussion on the format, to find what works best for everyone for the first tournament.

I feel your pain. There needs to be an "other" or wider regional subgroups to join with. I'm not sure if there are enough experts for a Team Caribbean, but if there are, try to put that together?

I was thinking of trying to put together a mideast team with Iran or something (and I think it would be a cool idea to have Team Gaming For Peace), but I was still having trouble looking for a third .

In the end I'm taking advantage of being Canadian and playing for team Canada, but that's not an option for most people.

Latest team lineup is below, and it looks very good. Tomorrow we're going to start discussing the format on Discord, and after that we'll be announcing the date for the first Azul Cup tournament.

Still waiting to see if France can form a team, there seems to be 3 players but I'm unsure if they've been in contact.

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in getting the ball rolling on this.

We are 17 teams to date, not including any RoW that we might form, possibly there is 1 such team.
In terms of a format, games will be 1v1, Colour side. The plan is to divide the teams into four groups, each group would have 3 tournaments, one for each player.
Tournaments will be round robin, so each player would play 3 or 4 games. Finishing positions within the tournaments would determine points and the team with the highest sum of points would qualify for the finals.
In total, four teams would qualify.

The final would then be a similar format.


I am minded to get everything organised and ready to run on January 11th.
