i don’t understand…

I guess they just missed this winning move. Blocking yourself in is perhaps an overlooked tactic.

what other obvious tactics in other games do they miss with this win rate?

My assumption here is that they think that they will simply be blocked off from the quick escape finish on the narrow side, and just don't realise they can block themselves in to win. Thinking they have to walk all the way round the other side, they concede.

Be careful. If you are asking about a bug that is one thing. But if you are implying another player has done something wrong calling them out by name on the forum can get you moderated.

BGA doesn't allow someone's ELO to drop below 100 once they've reached it. All an ELO of 100 tells you is that the player has won a few times -- which may have been entirely against other beginners. I would expect players at ELO 100 to make mistakes and have an incomplete understanding of the game strategies.

But even skilled players miss things or make errors or are distracted by things outside of the game occasionally.
