Developers - Please add the ? Option to all games for us mobile players

Post by Umrasii »

A hopeful simple request that reaches all game developers ears. For those of us who play on mobile devices, tool tips do not work well if at all. Please add the “?” option that I’ve seen in several games up in the player area. Once you select it, then you can tap on a piece/card and get the tool tips/description.

It seems small, but it makes a HUGE difference, especially for those of us who play a wide range of games and don’t always remember exactly what all the individual cards/tiles/pieces do.

Thanks for listening!

Given tooptips are a BGA framework thing. You could ask BGA to find a solution for ALL games, rather than ask all individual developers to reinvent the wheel.

I personally dislike the (?) button approach, and prefer tooltips that trigger on single touch. I realize I am in the minority, however.

I also prefer long-press/right-click as the way to see tooltips.

I agree with the OP! Many of my favorite games are unplayable on phone or tablet. This fix would increase my enjoyment of this service a thousand fold.

Definitely playable

I realize exaggeration is in vogue, but they're definitely playable. Whether the game has a question mark, a long-press, or nothing at all, I've had very few problems playing any game on mobile.

Perhaps better phrased, "Many games are less convenient on mobile without my preferred hint type."

She is talking about mobile devices where it is not possible at all to use tool tips that trigger on a single touch.

Innovation is unplayable without the hover unless you have all the special achievements memorized and can tell them by the icons on the card backs.
Roll/Race for the galaxy are both unplayable because you can’t see details about tiles in your stacks.

Those are the two that first come to mind.

Then don't play without the hover? Just long-press (on mobile) and you'll have the same effect as hovering.

If that doesn't work, it's always possible (albeit inconvenient) to simply google the cards in question, but I agree that this isn't realistic on realtime games.
