Confused about game end in solo

I'm struggling to predict when the game will end in solo mode. The "this is the final round!" warning is completely useless. I assume it functions differently in multiplayer, but in solo mode, it appears when your only option is "end this phase". It should really precede your last turn!
Also, it seems like I check Gaia's board, see that we are at eleven, and expect I have one more turn after this one, but actually can't predict. I'm sure this is just something to do with turn order that I'm missing, but I find it hard to track whether I or Gaia has taken a turn in a particular round.
It would really help if there were an easy, clear way to see both the phase (not just flashed momentarily at the start of it, which I often miss when I'm on mobile) and whether I or Gaia have had our turns in that phase so far.

In solo it's easy, after Gaia plays her 12th card (takes her 12th turn), game over.

If you the player complete your tableau with a 16th card planted, that triggers end game.

The "#/12" counter on Gaia's info box tells you how close game end is if you don't finish your tableau.

Also, if you are playing on easy mode, you get 2 turns after Gaia draws a Brown Fauna card. So, if that happens on Gaia's turn 11/12, you can perform a high-scoring play, and then plant to finish your tableau and end the game for the 7-point bonus.
