Is there any chance the Arena will move on to Marine Worlds? If yes, when?

Yeah, I appeal to gurus to vote for MW next season. We need to find out from experience how it fares competitively and affects the playing field instead of preemptively deciding it's too swingy without modules. Base Ark Nova is great but how much of the same do you need before you think it's time to change it up a bit?

In't the whole point of BGA assigning guru's so these people can decide what they think is best.
No need to potentially "ruin" and entire Arena season by testing if MW is indeed as swingy as we expect.
There is a reason we play on same maps, because you want to limit imbalance from the start.
From all testing it has been obvious not all special action cards are equal in strenght.
So waiting on MW till we can either have similar action cards or without special actions seems very reasonable.

Most of the player base isn't experienced enough with MW, especially in a competitive setting, and that's not going to change if you don't provide them the experience. The expansion merits to be tried out competitively as it is, instead of everyone jumping to the conclusion it's too swingy without action card modules. Even if that suspicion pans out as true, nothing is ruined and nothing is lost. You just gave people a new experience from which they can learn and decide how to proceed onward. Gurus are inert. They represent the part of the player base that has more enthusiasm for playing the same game ad infinitum. But come on, the expansion is good enough to have one competitive run as is. How many seasons of the base game did we already have? We can always go back to it. It baffles me that the gurus would be so afraid for their consistency that they would deny the whole player base a chance to enjoy something new for one season. So what if it turns out that for one season the game was a tiny bit less skill based. Most players would just have fun with it.

I agree with the previous post.Gurus are too biased towards removing the luck element.
Re: Marine world in Arena
I'm fine if they are, but not to the point they stall any experiment and change. The process of balancing the game should be based on experience, not assumption. Players assumed a lot about the mechanics of this game when it launched and yet the meta evolved. No need to be a puritan without trying it out.danielvictor wrote: ↑06 January 2025, 13:35 I agree with the previous post.Gurus are too biased towards removing the luck element.

I think Arena changed three times in the 4 seasons i played, we had the awfull rescue map in, out, and then 8 whole new maps.yazavats wrote: ↑06 January 2025, 13:51I'm fine if they are, but not to the point they stall any experiment and change. I saw what a bad setting can do on arena (first season of terraforming mars was so bad many opt out) and 3 month is quite a long time.
Will MW come in eventually ? Most likely but now is not his time.
Re: Marine world in Arena
At least people had competitive experience with the digging map to empirically decide it's better left out. Just like they had experience with the alt map pack to decide it's a permanent change for the better. When will it be time for MW in arena? When modules have been forced on it without even enough people getting enough experience with it unaltered to even know why and if the modules are even necessary. If three months is a long time so is the indefinite amount of time the expansion will be benched by your rhetoric because of fear of imbalance. If imbalance is there then it's better to expose people to it so they can decide what setting is better for the future. I assume the issue with TM first season was king making or playing for 2nd due to player count, so that's not an apt comparison at all to testing out a new expansion competitively. IMO if gurus keep voting down MW then they're just holding back its exposure to the wider player base.
