Has anyone beaten the boss?

I've been playing SOLO and can't get past the boss. I've unlocked everything I possibly can so now I am stuck until I beat him or until APRIL(!) when the Ramparts is open. Any tips?

I use Poisoned and set mutation as below.
My Strategy
1. Upgrade Tactics to maximum
2. Power Up Serenade
3. Keep Gold Tooths as much for using in boss stage.
4. If you have Corrosive Cloud, Ice or Swift sword, it will help you to damage and cc.
5. On boss stage, you need to remove Fire as much as before enter to 2nd form.

In my first ever game, without really understanding it, I managed to reach the Angry Concierge and give him 4 damage. No upgrades and surely lots of mistakes, so I guess it must be possible.

Yes I have now beaten the boss with each available hero.

I have done it before as well but there were some bugs that were helpful at that time so not continuing those.

If you need tips on how to beat it in solo then read ahead as it has spoilers.

1. Buy extra space in backpack.
2. Aim for weapons that will allow you to do most damage on boss (like swift sword)
3. Always try to pick the flame which pulls more cards. Less card is easy mode. More card is harder mode.
4. Try and find a group to play with. Solo is most fun killing mode in this game (In my humble opinion)

Playing solo, I feel it's borderline impossible. I've unlocked all the cards. Tried so many different permutations. No dice. It seems like one can only beat the boss if you get exactly one or two specific equipment cards and the cards fall just right in your run. Seeing that some people have beaten him, I can only assume that it's a ratio of 99% lose conditions vs 1% win condition. I had fun while it lasted, but without more powerups to compensate for this imbalance, it stopped being fun.

I guess two-handing is the way to go here.

Update: I finally beat him solo. I played the Poisoned and it was poison that got him.

Just wondering if anyone can beat the boss with strangers,should be extremely hard if not impossible.

What do you mean with "strangers". If you play several times with the same partner(s), you get upgrades, but maybe they're not strangers anymore?

Stranger means u only play with them once.

Beaten three times using Immolated in solo. Once with toxic cloud, twice with swords and freeze.

Yes one my second run through with the shield guy, and another time later when he was more maxed out. if you get the right equipment and upgrades its pretty easy. I didn't upgrade the sword at all. DO NOT USE THE GUY FROM THE TUTORIAL. his main abilities are fire and weaking, which the boss is immune too.
