I'm interested too. I have the Steam app which is nice but can't get the hang of it. I have won a few times but I wasn't sure I was playing the right moves.

BGA lets you review other people's games, including tournament games, and that was massively helpful for me in figuring out:
  • How I want to approach when to go or not to go on safari. (usually to capture my opponent's nyumba or other large cache of seeds)
  • That I basically always want to have at least one seed in at least one kichwa at a time (so my single seed captures can trigger a resow).
  • And that developing your backrow early during senemua can make your safari's much more feasible and your mtajji phase attacks much more flexible.
Here's a tournament finals game I studied: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:7r4n5s ... 6naidnm22u

And here's what it looked like when I defended my nyumba and forced a similar capture sequence by trapping my kimbi (and forcing my opponent to place a captured seed opposite the kichwa closest to my nyumba): https://bsky.app/profile/ratttz.bsky.so ... 72ycfaqs25

My main issue at the moment is mostly that the players who ARE around are mostly EU timezones and I'm PST, so peak gaming appears to take place during my work and lunch hours. So the most reasonable way forward is to be as available as possible to capture tire kickers/new players, and to organize with existing players rather than always relying on BGA's matchmaking; there just isn't enough people for matchmaking to be reliable
