Trickerion Development Project Status

Post by A-S-K »

Hi. I am interested in developing Trickerion: Masters of Illusion.

There is an inactive project listed in Studio for the game. Does anyone know the progress status or the team working on it? I would be interested in joining or taking over.

Additionally, does anyone know the status of the license agreement? The license list says the game is good to go, but the license was provided in 2020, so just want to double check that the agreement is still in place for the game to be developed.

Thanks.

All project have the dev working on it listed with them with a link to their BGA account. Your best option is to just send a private message to the dev to check on the status. From there you can also get read access on the current project.

If that dev has no intention they can add you as an admin to the project or you can start a new project. In the latter case just make a request for art files. If you get them you should be good to go license wise. Otherwise you can put in a ticket via the studio site to check status with the BGA team.

In any case I would not start working on it until you have art files and confirmation the license is still valid.

We've been in touch with the publisher about bringing Trickerion to BGA. It's a big project, but a popular one. Last I talked with them, they were planning out their fiscal year and hadn't committed to a plan yet.

Ah okay. Are publishers usually involved every time a new game goes into development? Cause I lot of games say they have the "license" but does that usually mean that's just the start of participation?

I would do just about anything to see Trickerion on BGA.

Publishers have been directly involved with every game I've adapted. You can see a list on my profile.

I'm sure many enthusiasts have started adaptations without contacting the developer first. However, most adaptations that are started are never finished -- there's a huge list of abandoned projects. There's a big difference between initial excitement and the dedication to complete complicated projects.

I would never start something with Trickerion's scope without direct publisher involvement. How many hundreds of hours do you want to dedicate before knowing if it'll see the light of day?

Mindclash said on Facebook today in their post about the 10th year anniversary of Trickerion that the game is coming to BGA.

They didn't specify when the game is coming to BGA for sure, but they said they are 'working on' it.
So, the exact status is still unknown. We shall see.

True, but it would probably go faster if some developers here get in contact with them about progressing it.

They've been very clear that they'll reach out when they're ready. I'm personally aware of some persistent individuals hounding them for frequent updates. They don't need more of that from us.
