Through the Ages - Rebellion

Post by Cazi »

Hi all,

I'm a relatively new Through the Ages play and don't know all the details of the game.

In a turn-based 4-players game I'm playing I experienced the following situation: we're in Age II, it's my turn to play, I chose not to do any political action but I get this message: "Rebellion: Cazy loses 4 Civil Action(s)". As the message says, I can't do any civil action this turn, which is quite frustrating.

I have Constitutional Monarchy in my hand and thought I might discover it by revolting, but didn't have a chance to play it. I didn't trigger any event and even if I did, I have the strongest army in that game and bad events usually affect the weakest.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm experiencing and why?

Revolution is only possible if you have all your civil actions still, or in case of Robespierre all your military actions.

Rebellion applies directly to your turn so if you have 2 discontent workers it can mean your entire turn is skipped and you'll usually have corruption too, it's a nasty event that makes it risky to have too many discontent workers.

And yes events usually favor the strongest but there are plenty that do other things.

Never mind my question, I found the answer on another game I play.

It's an event that was triggered on another player's turn but which affects all players on their next turn.

Each player loses 2 CAs for each discontent worker and I had 2 of those (and was the only one with discontent workers). Frustrating! :x

Thanks werfmark. Fortunately I avoided corruption by building more military. Fortunately, I had 4 total available workers so could afford this. Still, it's a very frustrating situation, especially since I'm the only one who was affected. On the bright side, I now have an impressive army...
