Waiting through commercials for non-premium play

All the games you've played (but one) are premium, so there was at least one premium player at the table. The non-premium game you played was against a premium player, so it's the same. This confirms that a premium player at the table cancels the waiting time for everyone.

Lol you looked through ~7,000 games I played in the last 4 years to come to this incorrect conclusion? You missed much! It has happened to me many times and I do call it a commercial! You can call it what you want. But if I have to sit through an timed screen, displaying something I need to buy, that is an ad! As a premium player I should not have to sit there and wait someone else watches the ad. I used to apologize when I finally joined the game for BGA making them wait while the ad played for me.

No moderation needed because I am not lying. That ad really exist and you cannot call it not an ad. An ad that is something that you have to watch so somebody else can get paid eventually.

And they're actually was a point in time when they were ads to buy the games themselves. There was someway I found a shut them off, so I don't even know if they still exist, but they were there for a period of time. Before Asmodee took over

I had a couple weeks between my premium memberships because of life. I had to watch 30 second ads that told me how important it was to become a member. They are BGA ads trying to convince me that I become premium. Are you saying you never ever see one of those? Not ever ever ever?

I joined BGA over 2 years ago, but became a premium user only 9 months ago. I have never seen an ad of any kind (and I used to play mostly real time premium games back then).

If BGA ever introduced ads like you are describing I would seriously consider leaving the site even if paying players remained unaffected.

You are pretending right here and now that you never once had to sit through a 30 second screen telling you how much you need to pay for a premium to get rid of that screen? That is an ad! It is an ad for BGA premium that you had to sit through and here you, are pretending it didn't happen. Considering that I had to sit through the many times a day, I cannot believe that you have never seen one. If that is true than BGA does not treat any of us fairly or the same

They do not get the wait screen when their opponent is premium! The wait screen only occurs when all players at the table are non-premium.
If you are premium and you have to wait for others (premium or not), it is not because of a wait screen. They are slow for a different reason.

And even if it happened as you believe... Your proposal means that in order to avoid a 30 second wait when a non-premium user joins your table, you'd add a restriction that would probably result in several more minutes of extra wait until a premium user joins. It does not look very efficient.

Been here 6 years. Never ever have I seen an ad asking me to buy a game. Never ever have a seen anything remotely as you describe. When I am not premium. I something have to wait on a timer. Counting down. Never asking for money at any point. And if you are premium. Never ever anything but straight to the game start.. I am beginning to think we are being trolled by op. I think it was made quite clear they meant this screen with the mentioned ads. So yes it does exist for non-premium players.
But that's beneath the point because that screen does not show for the non-premiums in games they play with premium-players. So it can't have any affect for them as long as they stay premium themselves.

The wait time they encounter is because the other players don't pay attention on game start which is independent of premium status.

I am pretty sure most everyone would not consider that screen a commercial..op talks about commercials. Never have I seen what i would call a commercial.. it is a timer counting down to start. Plain and simple.

If you want to call the reminder that premium memberships pay for the site and come with benefits an ad, than I don't think many are going to disagree with you on that. It is an promotion (= ad) for the premium membership, even if it is the most low effort ad I have ever seen.
But you didn't call it an ad in your original post or in the title of this discussion post. You are stating that non premium members are "watching a commercial" (or in the title of the post even commercials, plural) and the implication of that is very different and I find it hard to believe, you did not deliberately choose this wording. "Watching a commercial" is very much used to describe watching a video-commercial. E.g. no one is buying a fashion magazine because they like "watching the commercials" in them even if they like looking at the (print) ads.
This and - more importantly - the fact that the ad for premium does not show up, if a premium player is at the table, is the reason people are calling *.

This is simply untrue. I've been a premium member for less than a year and have never seen an ad, sure I've seen the 30 second countdown but that is only when playing with other non premium members and its none of your first games of the day, because you get one wait free game. The 30 second timer isn't an ad unless you also count staring at a clock in school until the bell rings as an ad.

I also play all the time with two friends who are not premium and whenever I start our game we start play instantly after everyone accepts. So there's your problem, the person you're waiting on just hasn't accepted the game. Have you checked every time that the person you're waiting on is the non premium member? I doubt it correlates.
There's times where I create a table and then turn away to watch tv or pet my cat and when I look up everyone else has accepted and are waiting on me, it happens.
