So this person is using a super-powerful "AI" with an other worldly ability to rapidly perform massive calculations....but it lost to a beginner. Can you please at least make your conspiracy theory internally consistent?

yeah in this game opponent was using totally different startegy that wasn't matching his strategy. It means that he couldnt take any advantage of the opponent actions

As mentioned above, you have no way of knowing whether the player is a newbie. Every BGA game exists in real life.

Also, AI probably doesn't even know how to play most games here. It isn't automatically good at them. it has to learn. ChatGPT is good at Chess, but that's Chess.

Precisely, generally available AI is probably not helpful in this situation. If the player is really doing moves that are to complex for a human to calculate themselves (even if - statistically speaking - there must be players that are just otherworldly good at this game), a purpose build spreadsheet will give you better results than asking ChatGPT.

Why should they? In TM It could be used to pick the best cards and maybe to suggest the best plays available. But TM has a huge luck component. If my cards are better, what could the AI do?

In the other hand, can you give a proper explanation on how can someone insta pick their cards then?

Yep. They know the game extremely well, inside out, and know the cards they want to choose.

As JohnnyCyclops says, if they know the game, it doesn't take long to choose. Additionally, there is sometimes lag for you in seeing the cards due to animations, connection, etc. There have been times where it seems like my opponent made their move before I was even ready to consider mine, and as my opponent was my husband, I know he's not using AI. I've watched him make moves at the same time as me, and sometimes he gets his choices on screen before I do.

ETA: I see you've posted another thread about lag in games, particularly in TM. And noticed that your GF has a different experience with the speed of the game. So you've seen what I've seen.

Yes, there is some luck in the card draws of TM, but if you're selecting the best of your cards (which needs to consider what other cards you have, things like what resources are out in the game, eg. how many tags your opponents have, how many events they've played, how many cities are on the board, as well as pre-requisites and cash flow), you should win. Easily.

Additionally, if using the AI doesn't allow you to win most of the time, why would someone use one?
