Archaeologist and Excavation Site

If I cover a border space with the Excavation Site special building and I have Archaeologist in play, do I get the Archaeologist bonus twice as well as the border bonus twice?

Just for context, I was playing today and I had Archaeologist in play and then played Excavation Site and covered a border space.
The game gave me the border bonus as twice as expected, but only gave the Archaeologist bonus once. Was this an error? Or does Archaeologist only trigger once regardless of situation?

It very much looks like this is a bug on BGA, you should have gotten the Archaeologist bonus twice.

I dont see any official answer in that thread, and more people seems to disagree with your interpretation than agreeing with you. Please do not encourage people to post bug without having an offical claim to back them up.

Current (at least preliminary) ruling is no, arch's bonus is not doubled.

Bastian (with the publisher) posted the following reply in Discord on Jan 6, 2025:

Thanks for posting this question and good catch on a pretty big loophole I dont think anyone has ever asked about yet! With the currect wording on Archaeologist, if the bonus placement bonus you get is also on a border space, why wouldnt this trigger Archaeologist again?
I think we have to reword/clarify this that Archaeologist only triggers by building over a placement bonus. So Excavation site should not double Archaeologist would be my answer (unless Mathias strongly disagrees and I have to discuss this with him some more).
