Another in agreement that the cards now move too fast.

The cards playing faster is related to the fix of the timer on ''fast'' games. It should be noted, that ''normal'' speed played well, with no timer bug. Only fast speed games had that issue (I can't speak to turn based games).

I would enjoy slower animations as well. After a couple dozen conversations, I would say about 25% say they like the faster card play, while the rest would prefer slower. A couple of those were very discouraged, and perhaps wont play anymore. I hope that's not true, because they are valued players.

BTW, thank you ufm for the statistics changes, and your continued efforts.

Ok, added animation delay preference option. Use at your own risk.
Waterlily blooms wrote: 06 February 2025, 21:37 One more thing, the highlight or line around the selected card in your hand is barely visible (at least when you have dark screen mode on on your computer or phone). You can slightly distinguish it because it pops forward a little bit but it's very hard to see. The red line round it only appears when you click on it twice but then you also get the message "you already selected this card".
Is there a way to fix this?
As you are using a custom css (sort of), you'll have to use another custom css to resolve this issue.

Thank you! It's better now with the slower option. I don't know what a css is, but I take it that the highlight of the selected card is not an easy fix.
These two were about how "comfortable" playing 6Nimmt is, but how about the first point that I mentioned, the card numbers in the log? This is not just about visuals but affects the actual tactics of playing the game (negatively, in my opinion and I saw some other comments about this as well). I would really appreciate it if the card numbers don't show in the log for the whole table in a game

Thanks again for discussing the update with us on the forum!

I don't think I was accurate. After more conversations I think it's more 50%-50%.

This has been really well received from those who had complaints, I think. There were a couple games where I knew some players were set to fast and others to slow. I switched speeds during those games to see how much they affected each other. It seems like it works fine.

I used 1-round per game setting for a tournament. I made a couple poor decisions when I set it up, but short games was good I think. I plan to ask around and get more feedback on this. I am happy to have these game length options. Although the vast majority of games are going with the standard 66 points it seems.

Thanks for adding a medium speed for the card movement. This is just right for me.

Removing the word ''variant'' would look better on the tables.
Tactics variant, Professional variant, 66
would look better as
Tactics, Professional, 66
It's less cluttered, so easier to read at a glance.

Where can I find this, how to use it?

#6. Even with all it’s flaws, elo works really well for this game with tables of recommended player counts. On the all time ranking the top positions are always changing, rotating between the top 100 players. It works exactly like we all want it to except for 2 or 3 players at the very top, that none of the rest of us ever play, because they only play 2p games. We gain 62% of the elo allocated, while 2p games gain 100%. A player has to have a huge winning streak to reach 600, then they need about 27 victories in a row against all experts (more than 7 quadrillion to 1) to reach the top players at 780, who don’t bother playing strong opponents, and don’t even play each other.

Well, you can't expect a more luck based version of the game not to require luck to reach the top. It is so luck based experts who play 5p almost always are on tables with "strong players and above" for 2 reasons: 1. Elo because they can't consistently beat 100-200 players at the level required as much as they need to beat 300s (proof of it including more luck) and 2. Lower players tend to play more randomly and (from who I have spoken to) make it more difficult to win but very easy to get 2nd/3rd, which in a game of only 100/200 players would not work out so well for them.
I don't do this to criticize the high 5p community, but you can't complain about elo when you chose to play a version with more luck. That is like someone who is playing Piraten Kapern trying to beat the #1 elo in Connect four, it just isn't going to happen.
